Bottle brought back by my buddy Erik. Pours a really, really dark red with no head. The aroma is very full and sweet with hints of toffee, caramel, a bit of peat. Identifiably English just by the scent, though a little more aromatic than a typical English session brew. The first few sips are pretty good. It’s nicely rich, slightly peaty, with more toffee and hints of cola. The finish suggests raisins and port. This is an alright malty beer, though too sweet to drink more than two and a quarter.

A reasonable beer. I had this on tap in my bar, but only because it was popular with the dutch and belgians. Too sweet for my liking with an unexplainable thinness to its texture. ABV was (i think) 7.2

WFM sample. Aroma is sour, some peach and other fruitiness. Pours dark brown. Taste is a bit sweet.

A dark clear appearance. Flavor is a sweet and malty with noticeable alcohol. The kind of beer you eat instead of drink. Really nice.

Brownish color. Sweet carmel aroma. First and foremost taste is sweet. Lots of malt flavor, but too sweet for me.

Nice transparent brown with an off white head. Smells like fresh baked bread. My enjoyment stopped there. It feels thin in my mouth, and is a little sweet. Has a funky finish I can’t really describe. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Pours a dark caramel brown with foamy white head. A little alcohol and citrus in the nose compliments the readily apparent grain and molasses aromas. Really smooth and sweet flavor with hints of caramel and molasses. I agree with the previous assessments of distinct maple brown sugar notes. Slight bitterness in the end. Thick and syrupy with slight fizziness. Nice lacing.
