| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Poured a translucent dark brown with copper hues with a foamy, lacing white head. Malty aroma could be sensed a foot away with grainy aromas up close. Flavor is heavy alcohol, maple, brown sugar and toffee. Heavy, syrupy mouthfeel, like a barley wine. Nice beer, but not a session brew. Sweet with alcohol overtones, a beer you would sip to maximize enjoyment. Maple and chocolate overtones...best when allowed to warm up. duffman462 (162), Gainesville, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2007 Deep dark brown pour with a medium sized tan frothy head. The aroma is subtle, mostly sweet malts. The flavor is dominated by the sweat roasted malts. the Malt has a chocolate or toffee flavor, depending on what else you are eating or have had to drink. The finish is on the longer side. Not a bad beer at all, in fact I think I may have to get this again.
