The head quickly disipates leaving a ring and some lacing. Aroma of nuts, malt and alcohol. Taste of malt and alcohol. I think the alcohol is a little too over powering in this beer. The aroma greats you with a fine malty presentation, simple but not bad. The flavor was sweet malt & light molasses. Again, simple but well done. Medium body. A fair brew, nothing fancy. kfarrnd (112), Oldsmar, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2006 Bottle. Poured a deep rich dark cherrwood brown with a medium tan head, good lacing. The aroma was overripe apple and malt. The flavor was quite sweet initially, with malt, candied apple, plum, brown butter, a bit of bitter hops and a warming alcohol finish. It definitely tasted more scotch-like as it warmed. Very thick and rich on the palate. Excellent beer, I’ll be buying this again. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
