It’s a strong ale flavor backed up by some malt/chocolate sweetness. Very pleasant. oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2005 Deep, cola-brown with brandy-red highlights, festive carbonation & a staunch, khaki head. Aroma starts vinegared, later revealing fresh bell pepper, syrupy toffee malts and an oak & whisky backdrop. The liquor comes and goes in the flavor with added vanilla. Lingering vinegar sourness fades over time. Alcohol shows but sweet malts prevail. Very creamy mouthfeel with a syrupy throatfeel that prolongs the sweetness and increases the warmth.

all in all a tasty one and a very good value. 6 pack for $7.99 or whatever...
