Malty aroma with some minerals. The flavor is quite sweet and malty, with a mineral bite and a very filtered, sterile feel. The body is kinda thick but also watery, with an abundance of carbonation. This one was hard to drink, with the excess of residual sugar that had nothing to stand up to it. DKTN (110), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 15, 2008 Sampled as part of a JRHB meeting. Somewhat surprised to see that I hadn’t rated this, but I did realize that it at least had bee a long time since I sampled it. Didn’t realize it had been over 5 years! Happily, better than I remembered it. Very dark brown, decent tan head. Aroma is a nice shot of smokiness (some may argue peatiness) and molasses tinged malts. Flavor matches, full and thick. Enjoyable. icculus801 (24), New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2008 Dark brown with a creamy, off white head. Decent lacing. Caramel, chocolate and notes of alcohol on the nose with a sweet caramel/chocolate taste. A bit thin on the tongue. Overall an enjoyable beer even if a bit too sweet for my tastes. scooterbub (383), Lander, Wyoming, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown that has a red tint when held up to the light. The head is tan in color, is fairly clingy, creamy and lasts the duration of the beer. The taste and aroma are of malt, caramel, chocolate and are rather sweet. Overall, this is a very enjoyable beer, that is easy to drink and is well worth the price. I also like the bottle and label.
