Commercial Description:
The pride of McGuire's! Our red ale was the first beer we brewed and remains our most popular. Beer gurus Michael Jackson and Fred Eckhardt have both praised its smooth and malty character. N.Brewer and Hallertau Hops are balanced by two row and caramel malts in our best selling ale.

Pensacola: Clear warm amber color with off-white thick head. Bready nose is sweet and inviting. Good straightforward body. Thin but flavorful. Lots of breadiness. Hopped for balance. Dry finish.

Destin: Clear amber, clinging tan head. Mild malty aroma, the butter here in integrated well. Bready and similar in character to the Pensacola version. Low carbonation. Diacetyl is here but not offensive. The breadiness saves it. Served in a frosty mug--doh! too cold

on tap-pours a thin retaining white head and gold color. Aroma is grainy-caramel/some peat, faint fruity hops. Taste is medium malt/grainy-caramel/some peat, balancing faint fruity hops. Towards medium body.

tap at Mad Anthony Oktoberfest - Pours orange with a two finger lingering head. It has a mild caramel malt aroma. The flavor is caramel malt with a nice, moderately strong hops bite. There’s a light to medium body in this easy drinking session brew.

Draft at the brewpub. More light brown that red. Server with no head and no lace to speak of. Toffee and caramel with strong biscuit malt and earthy hops. Very malty flavor. Medium body with light carbonation and a semi sweet finish. Nice easy drinking beer.

Draught into mug at the Destin location. Another very still beer, not much going on with no real head. Aroma and flavour mostly malt with the hops showing up at the end. Average ale.

On tap at Destin brewpub. Nice clean reddish-brown color, thin white head. Light wet grain aroma, touched by some earthy hops and caramel sweetness. Nice malt base with light piney hops assisting. Still tastes a bit thin.

Pretty decent Irish red. Good balance of malt and hops. Nice light reddish-brown color. Clean aftertaste, not too offensive. For $1.88/draw (on a Wednesday night) not too bad.

Pours clear copper with nice half inch off white head and some cobweb lacing. Nice looking beer. The aroma is mild bringing up some sweet maltiness and faint vague hoppiness that seems to border on being pine in nature. The aroma is really light and tough to discern. The taste goes from lightly roasted malts to more medium roasted or 90L type crystal malts mixed with some pine hop bitterness. The feel is a bit thin but not too bad considering the style. The mild pine hop bitterness and medium roasted malts head right off into the finish and after taste. Tasty offering.
