The lacing yielded throughout was fantastic. Flavor was full of caramel, somewhat sweet, with light toffee. By mid glass, this one turned a little more bitter (v. welcomed too), even picking up a rye type flavor. Hops finished with a zing, slightly bitter. Mouthfeel was heavy for the style, moderate overall. This one is up there with the Iron Hill and Smithwick’s Irish ales. Aurelius (2648), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Medium-dark garnet, moderate head, but the bar was dark so it was kinda hard to tell. No matter, the brewmaster knows what he’s doing -- complex enough to be contemplated, but light and balanced enough to have a few. If you’re in Destin or Pensacola, FL, then the beer afficianado will want to take out an hour or two to visit McGuire’s. stonyb (4), fort walton beach, Florida, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 3, 2004 i live close to mcguires and am a frequent visitor. this is my favorite micro-brewry on tap i have ever had.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2004 Quaffable, yet hearty - shares many characteristics with an ESB, at least as far as hop content goes, but there is a heep of caramel malt to make it nice, creamy and "meaty" - went great with my tuna steak. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Pretty decent Irish red. Good balance of malt and hops. Nice light reddish-brown color. Clean aftertaste, not too offensive.
For $1.88/draw (on a Wednesday night) not too bad.
