| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 28, 2008 tap at Mad Anthony Oktoberfest - Pours brown, not even dark brown really, which is odd for a porter. There’s a thin off-white head and a light, roast malt aroma. The flavor is mainly just easy going roast malt with some hops coming through in the finish. Not bad, but it’s less than impressive for a porter. tjthresh (1782), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Clear brown with a khaki head. Nice roasted malt aroma with a cream note. Again with the roast and a strong bitter finish. Medium body with average carbonation and a balanced finish. Easy drinking yet robust. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2008 On tap at Destin brewpub. Darkish brown pour, kind of light for a porter, very little head. Sweet nutty aroma, light roast, not much else. Nice body, but taste lacks any appreciable roast character. Some slight fruity sweetness on the finish. Too bland for me. jezmez68 (334), Chesterton, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2008 A typical Porter with some nice hops. Very dark, but not opaque. Nice taste, clean finish. A carbonated mouthfeel. It’s a nice example of the style. Ibrew2or3 (2843), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Pours a perfect clear amber with slightly creamy tan head and spotty. Spot on looking porter in my opinion. The beer is served up too cold so the aroma comes across as meek mustering up notes of mild roasty malts and a hint of dark fruity esters. Not much else in there to pick out. The taste is just like the aroma starting with highly roasted malts that approach burnt mixing with mild dark fruity esters like prunes and figs. Toward midway I get a ripe cherry fruitiness that builds up. The highly roasted maltiness heads off into the finish and well into the after taste. Not much in the way of porter like charred malts in this beer. Very tasty nonetheless.
