Commercial Description:
Ruby Chestnut in color and not as heavy as our stout. McGuire's porter will help what ales ya after a hard days work. Chocolate Malt balanced with Willamette Hops gives this full-bodied ale its smooth, distinct flavor.

Light brown with haze. Nice lace. Lightly chocolatey aroma. Mostly cocoa on the palate. Soft and creamy mouthfeel with a light nuttiness. The finish leans towards cheap coffee. 6-3-6-3-12 = 3.0

Draught, Destin
Chocolatey nose, dark brown body. Rich chocolately, toasty. Complex with a dryish finish. 3-6-7-4-14 = 3.4

on tap-pours a thin retaining tan head and copper color. Aroma is rich medium/dark malt-roasty/peat/cocoa. Taste is medium/dark malt-roasty/peat/cocoa, secondary earthy hops.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a . The almost non-existant aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of mild hops and brown malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

Red/black with permanent coffee head. Milky coffee. Good if you like that roasted nut character.

Draft. Small ivory head, opaque body, excellent lacing, and a reddish brown hue. The aroma was malty, sweet and lightly roasty. The flavor was a carbon copy of the aroma with hints of hops. The mouthfeel was smooth and a light-medium bodied porter. Easy to drink but did not knock my socks off overall as the flavor just needed more flavor.

Looked exactly like the Root Beer (also brewed on site) that my son ordered - all the way down to the thin head. Wished I had ordered this before the Irish Stout as everything after that is a letdown. Not a bad brewpub Porter - bit of a roasted flavor. Also noted licorice in both the aroma and the flavor. Went down smooth - a tad watery - no bitter aftertaste.

Pours a perfect clear amber with slightly creamy tan head and spotty. Spot on looking porter in my opinion. The beer is served up too cold so the aroma comes across as meek mustering up notes of mild roasty malts and a hint of dark fruity esters. Not much else in there to pick out. The taste is just like the aroma starting with highly roasted malts that approach burnt mixing with mild dark fruity esters like prunes and figs. Toward midway I get a ripe cherry fruitiness that builds up. The highly roasted maltiness heads off into the finish and well into the after taste. Not much in the way of porter like charred malts in this beer. Very tasty nonetheless.
