The aroma is of chocolate and alcocohol, combined with a slight acidity and alcohol - a super aroma. The flavor is sweet and very roasted, but also with strong notes of vanilla, and light notes of alcohol, towards the end quite bitter coffee notes comes along, before the final is dry and alcoholic. It is a shame, that this is not made anymore. For me it was the top beer of RBSG 2006. nolankowal (851), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma of dark chocolate, some vinous elements...a bit of coffee and roasted malt. Flavor was vinous and a bit sour along with some dark chocolate, plums, and a tinge of smoke. Oily yet smooth mouthfeel with a small amount of carbonation. I’m glad I got to try this one even if it was showing it’s age a bit. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA

Tangy and slightly bitter roasted malt aroma flows from the black body with no head. Full palate that has an oily, coating mouthfeel. Tangy flavor which is slightly sweet and vinuous. Probably past its prime at this point. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma, dark fruits, chocolate, and some cardboard. Flavor, prunes and other dark fruits, coffee, chocolate, there was a bit of a tangy aftertaste, medium to full bodied. Pours a dark black with a dark tan foamy/bubbly head. Aroma of caramel, some roast, chocolate and buttery. Flavor along the same lines with hints of coffee, very smooth and roasty along with coconut, vanilla and still some of that buttery thing going on. Still enjoyed it though. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
