Apr 8, 2005 2003 Vintage. Poured a medium, hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of lemon peel, oranges and some yeast. Tastes of lemons, light grass, light apples, and other light fruits. Very lightly tart finish. Lively body that leaves on a dry note. Never would have guessed it was 9% (other than feeling tipsy after drinking it on an empty stomach!). I really enjoyed this one.

Apr 8, 2005 Pours a hazy yellow/brown color body with a lot of fizz. Very delicious lemony orangy aroma. Flavors are lemons, bananas, bread, grass, and citrusy hops. The fizz mellows out nicely as it warms. My favorite saison to date.

Apr 4, 2005 March Tosa Tasting ala BBB63 via DocLock. Hazy golden color with a lid of off white bubbles. Sweeter aromas that impinge on being a triple, with mild light fruit, cloves, white pepper and back drop of roses. Aroma does dry out as it warms. Aroma is deceiving as the liquid is much drier and certainly more saison like. Mild honey which has set in the bark and gathered cobwebs. Spicy and herbal finish.

Apr 2, 2005 Cloudy straw-yellow / light brown body. Banana, lemon meringue, pepper spice in the wonderful aroma. Big, heavy flavor of pale malt, leafy hops (strong) with a strong yeasty sugar cookie finish. Great flavors, well-blended. Perhaps too abrasive?

Mar 28, 2005 Pours a hazy golden yellow, nice sized fluffy white head. Aroma is gorgeous full of lemons, oranges and a sour funky kick to it. Flavor is spicy, floral and sweet full of wonderful things. A very unique brew with lots of complex flavors and aromas going on. Thanks to BBB63 for sharing.

Mar 28, 2005 Brilliant smell - curacau, orange peel and hints of cloves. Some vanilla and honey coming through as well. Beautiful hazy orange in appearance. Yeasty, effervescent and carbonated, with cloves, curacau and nutmeg giving it its Christmas spice qualities. Creamy, but light and slick. Slightly bitter on the backend but the sugar cookie like sweetening prevails. One hell of a brew. Big thanks to BBB63 for sharing this.

Mar 27, 2005 Had this at the Tosa tasting. Aroma: Yeasty, sour, barnyard, smells REALLY good. Appearance: Tiny chunky (I got the bottom of the bottle), Excellent carbonation, Very cloudy, looks like liquid caramel. White head. Flavor: Clove, light citrus, floral, wheat germ. Palate: Acedic, light-medium body. Bottled on 10/04.

Mar 27, 2005 Golden bright cloudy body. Creamy white head. Aroma is bright and full with leathery yeast, banana, peppery cloves, and orange. Flavor starts with orange cloves, then turns into a piney floral hop flavor, with some sweet cloves coming in for balance. Fizzy and thin, but balanced nicely. Very good beer.
