An unclear orange beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, wood, and alcohol, while the flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of over ripe fruit. The alcohol is very well hidden in the flavor.

(Bottle 75 cl) Very unclear dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Discreet aroma of caramel. Sweetish, full body with loads of caramel. Lightly hoppy finish. Decent, but doesn’t really do too much for me. 270106

Dark amber color; the head disappears quickly. Malty taste and aroma, caramel, good body strength, not exceptional but a good barley juice…

(750ml bottle, RBSG05) Lightly hazed amber body with off-white head. Aroma is sweet, big malt-caramel, fruity (raisin, apricot, cantalope), some alcohol. Taste is sweet, caramel, cantalope, light alcohol. Medium-full body. The promise contained in the lovely aroma is not carried through to the taste.

Vintage 2003. Shared bottle courtesy of egajdzis (thanks!). Poured a amber/copper color with a smaller off white head. Aromas and tastes of wood, malts, dark cherries, and a little musty. Malty. Light alcohol in the finish. A very good barley wine.
