Enjoyed @ the pub. Poured a small tan head, fair retention with spotty laceing. An almost black brew but with deep ruby red highlights. Nose of medium sweet malts, caramel, roast and a light spiceyness. Body is med/full, creamy on the palate. Good roast and light coffee flavors, licorice and caramel malts, light sourness and a light earthiness. Finish is lightly sweet and lingering. Alcohol is well hidden. A nice Doppel!

Very dark ruby/mahogany with little head. There’s alcohol in there for sure, but it doesn’t sem like too much else. Bitter and sweet, too one-dimensional.

On tap at McKenzie’s. Poured a dark brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roasted malts, light chocolates and some toffee. Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and slightly bready. 7.3% alcohol content hidden. Light to medium sweet.

Poured a dark brown, red color with a small, light tan head that left very light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, caramel malts, dried fruits, and chocolate. Taste was much the same, very chocolatey and roasty, with spices, some smoke, and some bananas as well. Very tasty.
