hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 9, 2008 On tap as the EIPA (English IPA). I’m going to stick this rating here. Poured a deeper and hazy golden color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of citrus, caramel, toasted grains, and a little earthy. Tastes of citrus, caramel, and lighter graininess. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 22, 2007 Poured a golden/copper color with a small white head. Aroma was very subtle, almost non-existing. Flavors were a little citrus and just enough carmel malt to give it a good balance. Drinkable. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA May 22, 2006 Coppery/dark straw pour with big hop and citrus aroma. Medium to light palate, with more resemblance to an APA, and with more hopcitrus and some caramel malt in the finish. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Sep 24, 2005 not as hoppy as i would have liked but still a nice hop taste that becomes citrusy as the beer progresses. still not a fan billk (300), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA May 7, 2005 Tap @ McKenzie’s. Rather pale amber/copper color w fair almost white head. The aroma was weak (it was cold), hops were almost undetectable. The flavor was at first very disappointing for it was quite light bodied with the hops being barely noticable for an IPA, but as it warmed it took on a nice, almost exotic (the East Kent hops I suspect), spicy, mildly citrusy (NOT the typical milky, sour, raw dough, grapefruit taste that is so common in many IPAs) flavor with a nice little nip on the finish. Very clean, crisp, & bright tasting. It was only at the top of the light bodied category. Putting aside it was labled an IPA I can give it a 3.7. If it wasn’t so spendy I could have put a bucket of it down with no effort at all. Shag (1922), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Apr 26, 2005 This beer poured a golden color with little head. It had a fairly weak citrus aroma. The flavor was very 1 dimensional and it tasted very similar to orange juice. I also picked out some mango and oranges. I find it difficult to believe this has 65 IBUs. Overall it was decent but a little too light. egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2005 Poured a dark golden color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of soft and sweet orange and other citrus, faint caramel maltiness as well. More orange, tangerine, apricot in the taste, lots of sweet citrus, with a low bitterness.
