One of the best brett ales I’ve had from America. Even great sour ale from America like Jolly Pumpkin still seem like American takes on sour ale, while this almost seemed Belgian.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy, medium to dark golden with nice big carbonation bubbles and an average to large, off-white head that kept a nice blanket. The aroma was light to moderate sour malt; moderate to heavy dusty, cobweb-like, dried saliva yeasts, slight funk, sour fruit and wheat. The initial flavor was sour; while the finish was rather sour and lightly bitter with an average duration. There was sour fruit, sour malt, yeast, funk, grapes, wine, a hint of hops. There was citrus that was more evident once the yeast was added, which also lessened the sourness.
The light to medium body was somewhat syrupy and then dry with soft yet tingly carbonation and a light to moderately astringent finish.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Pale golden straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is loaded with loads of cheesey, funky cologne-like notes. Light lemon and clove and a heavy sweatiness as well. Herbal and chewy and a little bit zesty. This smells like a goats balls dipped in gin and tonic. Minerally and chewy with a reasonably interesting note. The flavour is underwhelming. Some pine and a bit of lingering citrus. Not terribly complex. Strange and thin and not all that good. jcwattsrugger (5528), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Odd aroma- a bit sulfuric and musky with quinine notes. Weird. Fizzy feel and a very dry flavor. Nearly no residual sugar notes. Very minerally and sharp with quinine notes all over. Like tonic water. Yuck. I never disliked a brett beer so much.
