Reid (988), Salem, Oregon, USA Mar 25, 2005 Pint served in McMenamins Lighthouse Pub.Dark brown in colour and slighly hazy, small frothy off white head.
The aroma is pretty malty, though it is rather subdued.
The taste seems to be rather on the heavy side for a dunkle lager and is quite sweet and malty, no real hops in the taste at all.
Palate is rather pleasant but maybe too thick for the intended style.
I found this to be quite a drinkable beer, but for some reason it reminds me more of a heavier Scottish ale than a German dunkle.
