Commercial Description:
What better way to honor St. Patrick's Day than with a fabulous stout brewed in the dry Irish style. McMenamins Irish Stout belongs to the dry Irish family and is brewed in the tradition of many famous Irish brews including Murphys, Beamish, and of course, Guinness. The term dry refers to the lack of residual sweetness found in some stouts. This quality provides a clean, crisp and refreshing draught. Aromas of chocolate and malt combine with hoppy, herbal nuances. The taste is complex, including pronounced roast barley flavors and a rich, bready warmth. These essences give way to a pleasing chocolate-espresso richness balanced by an herbal hop twang. Starts pouring March Grains: Pale Malt, Victory Malt, Flaked Barley, Chocolate Malt, and Roast Barley Hops: Kent Goldings Specifications: Original Gravity: 1.044; Terminal Gravity: 1.007; Alcohol by Weight: 3.7%

I enjoy all the mcmenamins beers I have had thus far. These small batch brewers are artists to say the least. I love mcmenamins so much I married the love of my life at kennedy school and we enjoyed all of the beers the had to offer that night, the next day, and every winter since.

Tap at the Mill Creek location; creamy head that seem to last forever; thick lacing; nice hints of the roasted barley; the Terminator Stout overshadows this one however. (#9)

Faint roasted nose, frothy head (of course--it was a nitro tap). Hint of licorice, roasted flavors. Dark chocolate end. Fizzy, thin body, good swilling beer.

Draught. Poured Deep black with thick beige head (nitro pour). Head dissipated rapidly. Thin malty aroma. Thin body with a bit of milk and a bit of caramel. Light finish

Tap... Poured black with a beige head. Dry malt aroma. Dry palate with flavors of dark chocolate and smooth malt and a chalky balance. Sort of like a sweeter, milkier Guinness.
