TheBeerLover (1013), DC Metro Area, USA Nov 5, 2007 Sampled this one on draught at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, OR. This beer pours to a hazy, deep golden to orange color, with a soapy, white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is really excellent, with vibrant citrus aromas of lemon/grapefruit. The palate is firm, with good pale and biscuity malt flavor, with some tangy/candy lemon hop flavors as well. This beer finishes with good pale and biscuity malt up front, then ends with a zesty, tangy, citrus hop bite that lingers. Well done AIPA, with good hop character, yet a very drinkable beer.
carboloader (300), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 28, 2008 At Old St. Francis School in Bend. Pours hazy orange with small white head (probably just the way it was poured). Some carbonation bubbles. A grassy, pine, resin nose with weak malt backbone. A decent bitter finish, but seems weak and watery overall to me.
Lothore (226), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a light orange hue with a small, egg white head.
S- Smell is very faint, yeasty notes, some piney hops.
T- Tastes a lot like their hammerhead pale ale. Sweet syrupy floral notes flow into a piney hoppiness.
M- a little thicker than the normal ipa, good carbonation.
D- Easily sessionable, not the best ipa, not the worst.
blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA Mar 19, 2008 A decent low abv IPA that I would skip. Tasty crisp finish with a golden pour. Lacks IPA character, however decent it is. SuzyGreenberg (934), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 9, 2008 draft @ ringlers pub - orange with white head and slight haze throughout; standard IPA aromas of hops and fruit lead to crisp hop flavors without much malt backbone; bitter finish Angeloregon (1867), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 24, 2007 On tap at Bagdad Theatre in Portland--Poured a bright hazy yellow-orange body with a medium sized white head. Nose of bright floral hops and bready gritty grains. Well-carbonated with a good mouth feel. A little dull in the finish, but overall, pretty good.
