On draft at the Nags Head. Darkish copper body, small creamy head. Heavier with more malt than their standard bitter. Retains the flora to grassy flavours and has a good bitter finish. Nice beer.

A Mes rate: Cask from the Nags Head. So so beer. Thin palate but it still feels pretty nice. Amber gold colour with reasonable head and almost solid lace. Fruity and dusty with some nice grassy hops and underlying caramel malt all the way through.

A mid to dark, orange brown coloured beer with a weak white head. a weak, malty aroma, slightly caramel, with a background hint of hop. The taste is bitter sweet, a malty start of caramel and toffee, followed by a slightly fruity hop flavour. The finish is bitter sweet, and a bit cloying. (Cask - 2007 Cambridge Beer Festival).

Half pint on cask, well kept and served at a right temperature. Golden coloured beer with good clarity Very poor in aroma, only some notes of malt comes through. A cautious taste has got a touch of caramelled softness and a bitter ending. Moderate mouthfeel (The Farriers Arms in St Albans, 28.09.2006).
