Cask (handpump), at the Spice of Life, Cambridge Circus. Very dark red, with a loose, off-white head. Fairly restrained roast malt aroma. Quite bitter on the palate; bitter rather than dry. Lots of cooking chocolate coming through. Medium body. Certainly not what you’d call a velvety smooth stout, but a very decent drop.
