Cask@Nags Head:Copper coloured, persistent creamy white head; dry herbal (tobacco!?), peppery nose with fruity-malty traces; very light bodied, moderate dryish bitter flavour; malty bitter finish. Quite well balanced, not great, but well quaffable...........

Cask@Nags Head. Dark amber colour, mediumsized foamy beige head. Aroma is a bit caramel, hops and malts. Flavour is the same as the aroma in a really mild and wellbalanced way. Also has some slight roasted notes.

Dark copper with a small but lasting white head. Malt and toffee aroma. Sweet malty flavour, very anonymous...

Cask@NagsHead. Aroma of herbs with a hint of toffee. Light brown color, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, light bitter, stranges herbal flavors, metallic finish a thinish.

Pint @ Spice Of Life, Soho. Amber body, small cream head. Strong lacing on the glass. More malty (think shreddies) than the other McMullen’s I’ve had, with a twinge of fruity sweetness and less of a bitter finish. The body was watery, but this might be because Spice don’t keep their McMullen beer as well as The Nags Head does.

Cask-conditioned at the Nelson, Wheathampstead, Herts. Amber coloured with slight, off-white head. Aroma of muted malt. A bit watery with a fruity flavour and short finish. Ok.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Nags Head. Malty dusty uninspiring bitter. Lifeless mouthfeel. A bit pants really. Merv would love it.

Cask at The Nags Head (Covent Garden). Aroma is floral, with some malt. Dark golden amber color with significant white head. Starts floral, moves to light malt, finishes medium bitter. Something of a malt/hop balance in the finish. Distinctive.
