Cask, Nag’s Head, Covent Garden: With my London guide, Duff. Clear dark amber with some slightly harsh roasty notes and a touch of felt-tip pen (??) and sweaty foot. Not a great start. Slightly winey and cola-like with watery malt and hop flavours. Really not a lot going for it.

Cask: Sweetish balanced malty bitter. Golden colour with a lasting white head.

Pint pulled at The Farriers Arms in St Albans (Hertfordshire), clear amber with a large creamy white head. Malty undertones with more dominant fruity hops in the aroma. A swetness in the flavour that goes through the mouth with some hoppy bitterness and dryness.

Light nose, pale copper color, fluffy beige head. Creamy malt base, light bitter. Thin and watery, really. Not so special.

Cask at the Nags Head: Light brown color, small head on top. Light malt and caramel nose. Weird cabbage taste - medium bitter, medium lasting. Still ok.

Cask conditioned, GBBF 2005: Strange taste, slightly metalic. Sour and acidic in the end. Soem caramel in the flavour.
