Commercial Description:
Made in the style of the four breweries of the Altstadt in Dusseldorf, Germany. Slowly fermented, aged cold, and never filtered, this bitter brown ale was made from the finest German barley malt and hops. Ein Prosit!

Pours reddish brown, only slightly lighter than their brown ale. Wonderful roasty aroma. Chocolatey. Flavor is lightly roasty, with chocolate and nuttiness. Body is fairly light, with excellent small bubble carbonation. What a wonderful beer. My favorite from these guys so far.

Red brown and a thin head. Thin pallate, only slightly malty. Strange aftertaste- bugs?

Bottle: Chocolate malt nose. Reddish brown color. Medium malt taste with big hop bitterness. Linguring bitter finish. I like it, just haven't tried any others in catagory

Brown color with a bubbly head. Fudgey chocolate on the nose with a light underriding hoppiness. Body is primes with a mintyish malt flavor that compliments an otherwise slightly onesidedly hoppy finish.

Another great example of an altbier . Nice aroma that I like to call it -deep. Flavour of light. Dark rye bread, malty and ends in very refreshing style.

Reddish-brown. Aroma shows chocolate, hops, bread crust, nuts - just want you want in an alt, really. Chocolate malt leads to cocoa, bitter hoppiness, leaves, and earth. Light smokiness a sly wink at the blue haze that makes Zum Uerige one of the most toxic pubs I've ever set foot in?

On draft in VT: Copper amber hue. Inviting caramel roasted grain nose. Tastes of toffee, fruit, awesome hop presence. These guys are just incredible.
