Passing through and decided to stop into this brewpub. Had a few and ended with the stout. It was black and had a nice head with some really nice lacing. It had a roasty aroma with a little chocolate coming through. It tasted very smooth and creamy. The body wasn’t has heavy as I like in a stout but it was balanced and well made.

Bottle courtesy Gillard. Pours black with one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of saw dust, roasted malt, alcohol, and licorice. Taster is the same as aroma. Medium full dusty mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Good.

Bottle brought to post DLD tasting. Pours jet black with thin tan head. Aroma is metallic, soy, possible infection sweetness, and chocolate. Taste is pretty bad, i couldnt drink very much of this, im not sure if this bottle was poorly kept but while it did have some redeeming chocolate and acidic something seemed just off. The poor labeling makes me further question this one.

22oz bottle shared with the Chi-Town crew. Heavy soy, blackstrap molasses and oxidized metal on the nose. Pours near opaque brown with a thin brown head. Flavor featured more of the same. Soy, molasses, charred vanilla. Lightly roasted malt. Some chocolate. Medium bodied. Nothing major going on here. Thanks Drew!

bottle thanks again (i sound like a broken record) to andrew for sharing at the latest P tasting..... poured pretty close to black with reddish brown hues at the edges.... aromas of chocolate and soy which weren’t exactly to my liking.....flavors of chocolate and sour notes that didn’t quite mesh all that well together.

Tap at BT. Dark, dark. Balanced IS - belgian cocoa, muted hops. Cherries and quite woody. Bitter almond and smoky finish. Fairly thin on the palate. Well crafted.

Many thanks to Adam for the bottle! Poured inky black, leaving a thick, sticky, well-formed cap of deep tan head. The aroma picked up near-burnt semi-sweet and darker chocolates, sweetened coffee grounds, and roasted barley.. not really stand-out in any regard, but very well composed. The flavor had burnt dark chocolates and coffee at the core with sour coffee and barley laced throughout, which worked really well here.. pine and lesser earthy bitterness had a substantial presence.. this finished long with burnt chocolate and coffee, sour dark fruit skins, and a hint of oak. Heavier-bodied, warm, and bitter on the palate with very good balance. Very good stuff!

Total blackness in the pour with a frothy brown head. Pungent hoppy acrid burnt aroma with coffee, chocolate and leather. Big hoppy flavor supported by sweet burnt malt. Rich body. Long oily bitter hoppy finish. Very nice.
