[bottle] Dark brown, near-black in color with a muddy brown head. Aroma is very strong roasted malts, slight coffee and hops. Very dry, dark malt flavors with a powerful hop bitterness. Subtle sweet chocolate in the finish.

I dont know why I was credited with bringing this beer because it was not me. Poured black with a tan head. Aroma was awesome with a lot of roastiness and maybe a little oak to it. Probably one of my favorite aromas. Flavor was descent but couldnt hold up to the aroma. A little bitter and some sourness to it. Average body and and also some coffee notes.

Bottle shared by bgburdman at C-Bus 6: Black pour with a dark tan head. Aroma, chocolate, coffee, and some roasted bitter notes. Flavor, coffee, chocolate, some caramel and molasses, roasted hoppy notes on the finish. Really nice brew.

Thanks to bgburdman and Bruno for sharing. Chocolate nose, with some warmth detectable. Almost black with a beige head. Medium palate for an impy. The flavor is bitter chocolate with roasted malt. I like the flavor--but is a little thin overall.

Bottle from goldtwins. Deep opaque brown-black body, thick, persistent, tight ochre head. Deep, rich roasted malts, with cocoa, coffee, and hints of smoke. Bold, bitter body emphasizes these characteristics, with just a touch of licorice. Nothing sweet or heavy, and the alcohol is subdued nicely. Compares favorably to St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and other top echelon roast-heavy stouts. An excellent change of pace.
