The nose is amazing. Loaded with bright tropical fruit, orange peel, mango and papaya with a light spiciness on the back of the palate. A touch of black pepper and light ethanol. It’s got a kiss of sweetness through the middle, but in general it’s got loads of fruity tropical flavour. The flavour has great balance with a nice lingering fruity hoppiness but with low bitterness/resinousness. Fresh and tasty IIPA. I didn’t think McNeill’s had a beer like this in them, but I’m glad to see it.

Tastes a bit like french fries. Mild and drinkable with a great profile. Well developed. The umami notes however are very weird. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Tap at Barcade’s 5th Anniversary Party: Hazy deep orange copper pour with a fading off white film of head. The aroma is fairly large- sticky fruity hops are present- syrupy mango and juicy citruses- definitely has that tropical fruit character from some U.S. hops. Silky body with a rich yet balanced flavor. There’s a brief candied malt richness yet it’s rounded. There’s evident earthy (Chinook) hop like characteristics. Lots of sharp citruses and vegetal twigginess. There’s also some tropical fruit notes in the middle of mango with that rich sticky fruit hop flavor I enjoy in IPAs. Some herbal spices as well towards the late middle of thyme and oregano. A robust IPA with lots of various hop components- earthy, vegetal and balanced. A nice surprise from this brewery.
