Aroma is roasted malt, a little cream, and sweet oats. The flavor is some sweet malt, and roasted / burnt malt. The palate is a little watery. By the time I was half-way through this beer, I didn’t want to drink it anymore. puboflyons (606), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2008 From a 1 pt. 6 fl. oz (US) bottle with a much more professional presentatoon than some of their other brews I’ve tried (that’s not to take away from the experience...but at least the label on this one doesn’t look like a photocopy). Pours a deep brown to almost black with a head with the color of a barbecue potato chip. Unfiltered but not cloudy. Aroma of malts, and a slightly smoked combination of chocolate, coffee, and toffee. Lightly hopped. Heavy mouth feel and bold taste of coffee and subtle oatmeal. A primed product. Sammy (4013), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Initial reaction was; what happened to the bottle? No bubbles on top of the liquid, it even appeared to be missing some fluid. Dark, almost no carbonation present. The pour-was this a cask beer? The taste-a cask RIS and a magnificent one based on that with understated natural carbonation and tasty coffee-chocolate bittersweetness. A delight of a beer Rocco13 (4), USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Oct 9, 2007 The finest oatmeal stout ever made. A perfect combination of deep, dark body, surprising hop bite and a pleasantly toasted head make for a memorable drinking experience. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Super carbonated from over-bottle conditioned. Deep opaque black color. Over aged. Contaminated, sour and sadly not judged at its peak. My rating is not what it probably should be. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2007 From bottle. Nice smoky malt aroma, dark chocolate bitterness. Bit of lactose and milky sweetness. Rich and creamy. Dark black clear with tan light foamy lacing head. Medium heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Starts rich with malty character. Dry roasted bitterness and carbonic gaseousness. Bitter chocolate and a bit of smoke. Finishes dry and a bit watery. Touch of alcohol. Bit less creamy/sweet than other oatmeals, more of a dry roasted nutty finish with hint of lactic sweetness.
