tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA Sep 28, 2005 Golden orange color, rose-like, grapefruit, and piney hops. This bottle was very old, but it had a nice toasty malt profile. Turns bitter after the swallow. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 16, 2004 22 oz bottle. Pops with no hiss, and almost no head. Uh-oh, another improperly bottled McNeills, sigh. Cloudy apricot color, bit apple-PNW hop nose, very strong. Fully, fairly hoppy throughout, orange-grapefruit-apple dominating the huge fruitiness, with a lingering slight metallic bitterness, not enough to ruin it; too light on the carbonation. Properly bottled, this would be excellent, as is it is merely good. Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 30, 2004 On tap at the brewhouse: Clear orange with a thin head. Flowers and grapefruit aroma, fizzy, yet mild in the mouth, almost cask-like. Bitter on both ends, and very fresh tasting. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 26, 2004 Bottle. Amber color with not much of a head. Very low carbonation, flat. Aroma of hops and caramel. Very strong hops flavour with some caramel. Flat mouthfeel. Mc Neil seems to have a problem with his bottles since it’s not the first one I taste that is flat, too bad because it’s a great brewery. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 5, 2004 Golden in color with a small white head.Huge grapefruit aroma as well as other citrus hops. Mellow bitterness upfront with citrus hops dominating a light toasted malt character.
