Tobacco, balsamic acidity, dark pit fruit. Acidity dominant. Hazy brown body with shy, off-white head. Cardboard flavours are apparent with some roasted malts, some sour acidity. Mild carbonation. Somewhat still and thin. Bottle sampled with MartinT and Olivier (Winooski Beverage Warehouse - Oct. 2004).

Ruby brown color with a thin off-white head. Rich caramel aroma with some dark fruits. Starts sweet and ends a bit less sweet with a long aftertaste.

Bottle - Pours a dusty brown in color with a sparse whitish head that did not stick around. No lacing to speak of. Aroma was very weak, but some malt and a tiny bit of hops. Flavor was also nondescript and quite watery. Some bitterness in the finish. The bottle that I had was fairly old, so perhaps that explains why I am not nearly as impressed with this beer as some of the other reviewers... guess I will have to try it again sometime.

Dark murky brown color with no real. Aroma of nuts, and sweet caramel malt. Malty, roast, sweet caramel, light nuts, and a bitter citrus hop finish.

Pours a nice ruby brown, with the usual McNeill's rocky head. Nutty, sweet nose. Sweet nutty palate, toffee, slight roasted grain, minerals, faint metallic, hint of smoke, light bodied, finishing with a citrus (grapefruit) like hoppiness. Definately better with warmth, another nice session brown from Ray and the gang.

Pours a light brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma is hard to detect, very lightly roasted sugars and caramel. Body is nutty with some doughiness and a semi-roasted profile. Finishes very dry and dark chocolate bitter.

Bottle: Light nose, little smoke/nutty. Beautiful clear reddish brown. Roasted malt with a tad of grapefruit bitterness. A little thin on the finish. leaves a slightly roasted malts on the tounge. Enjoyable, but its not his best brown.

A very fresh tasting, well made brown ale. Mellow and tasty, with a perfect balance of hops and malt in the mild finish.
