Smooth silky and dark and tasty, similar to Halley Barry. Excellent! SNIAT (120), Passaic, New Jersey, USA

McNeills had it on the handpump one time I was there and I give that a 5.0. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

This is how porter is supposed to smell. Rich and roasty like premium coffee. Black with a finger thick, but diminishing white head. Yum. I’m sure this loses ratings for it’s thin palate, but taste wise this is spot on. More roasted coffee flavors and a touch of smokiness. An imminently sippable brew. Nicely done. Nice aroma of coffee, roasted malts, and some nice pine hops. Flavor is good roasted malts, coffee, a little cocoa, and some smoke and at the finish some brief pine hops. Medium body with some carbonation and a soft smooth mouthfeel. Very nice porter fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2006 Pours a dark chocolate brown that leaves a thick tan head that stays with this brew. The aroma is so pleasant caramel, brown sugar, fresh cut grass over tones, followed by a herbal spiced hop presence. The taste starts bitter, a very aggresive bite that is quickly subdued by a sweetness of vanilla, oak, and caramel sugar. The finish is strong coffee and bittersweet cocoa, this is a lovely porter...thanks to BA LeeMarvin for bring this sample back from VT for me!

Chocolate, coffee, caramel, pine, molasses. Medium to full bodied mouthfeel, creamy and velvety smooth. The finish is astonishing. Tons of hops, great bitterness, with pine needles and flowers. I can’t get enough of these guys. I recommend this brewery to anyone. Such awesome brews, and nobody knows the treasures in southern VT. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
