Poured a deep black with a fast fading tan head. Smells of dark fruits and malt. Very heavy roasted malt flavor with hints of chocolate and nuts. Sourish finish that is slightly bitter with coffee. Only medium bodies with a medium mouthfeel. Nice beer, but not a great stout.

Poured a deep dark brown color with a small tan head. Big roasty malt aroma with notes of coffee grind, chocolate and ash. Roasted malt flavor with black coffee and light ash. Medium bodied.

Bomber, Hennepin glass, Noogfest. Dark black and sloshing, viscous pour reveals a tall, creamy tan head. Strong aroma of baker’s chocolate, dried prunes, french roast coffee and coffee liquor. Very sweet upfront in the flavor (chocolate and caramel) with a heavily roasty-bitter and somewhat lactic-sour finish. Very drying after a few sips. Medium to full body, oily/coating texture, lively carbonation and a touch of drying alcohol. Fun. Impressive. Massive.

A jet black pour with a slight slilky head and lacing. An aroma a mucho choc/coffee. A smooth sliky palate that makes this beer easy to drink. Damn nice.

A nice thick dark brew with a cocoa aroma to it. A strange version of chocolate in the body, maybe with some nuts or something in it. Decent stout.

Aroma is chocolate, nuts, and malts, with some hints of oak, vanilla, and coffee. The flavor was super astringent and pretty acidic. Coarse coffee ad baking chocolate in the flavor. I thought the aroma was pretty tight but the flavor needed either some age, or some work done.

Noogfest 2006. The body was light tan with a black body. The aroma had coffee with a lot of roasted character. There was also some dark bread. The taste was dark burnt coffee with more bread crust. This could use some other tastes besides coffee, but it is decent.

Pours black with a tan head. The aroma is richly roasty with a healthy dose of chocolate and anise. It’s actually very similar to my homebrewed imperial stout in flavor except not as hoppy and it has less body. Excellent stout, although I’m not getting the dryness mentioned in some other reviews.
