| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2005 Strong, roasty aroma is straight-forward but pleasant. Opaque black body is topped by a decent, fine-bubbled cover of brown head. Roasty flavours dominate with some notes of alcohol and some woody, leafy tobacco-like hop flavours. Medium-full body is very dry and roasty with moderate carbonation. On tap at the brewpub with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere. Rastacouere (5559), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Pitch Black, a tan creamy film slowly becomes a big ring. Rather sweet aroma full of cream and coffee, lightly coniferous and chocolatey. Sweet palate, with plenty of alcohol, mellow anise notes and a profound woodiness. Low carbonation, creamy smooth texture. Less bitter than most, that’s for sure. It still has plenty of roastiness, but its lactic aspects and overall sweetness make me differ with most other raters. I certainly prefer the porter by a wide margin. Lubiere (4546), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

A pour drinkable stout. Light and smooth on the palate. Rick dark roasted malt flavors with a touch sweetness to keep it from being overpowering. Light hops bitterness comes mid to late in the quaff, along with a touch of malt acid. Long linger of roasted malts. Very enjoyable after a horrific Packer Sunday. Many thanks to CaptainCougar.
