Pours deep amber into a snifter. Sickly head quickly subsides with no lacing. Sour smoke aromas. Thin caramel with an alcohol bite. Lasting sour finish.

Cloudy dark ruddy brown w/ light beige foam. Mild aroma of peat smoke & sweet malt (caramel, toffee). Full-bodied, chewy feel. Malty flavour w/ some roasty, smoky notes & a mild yeasty tartness.

From bottle. Deep orange brown with a thick tan head. Nose is a peaty malt, but with some dark fruits as well, raisins, plums. Slightly sweet. Flavor is a bit sour and follows the nose. Nice dry finish.

Bomber from Sammy. Deep brown color, amber highlights, tan head. Somewhat mild aroma, malty, sweet, toffee. Flavor is again malty and sweet, light alcohol prescence. Medium to full bodied. Decent scotch ale, I’d like to see some peat though.

Sample at DougShoemaker’s 2005 December gathering - bottle courtesy of Sammy. Hazy ruby coiour with wispy head. Aroma is quite sweet with notes of toffee. Flavour is primarily sweet as well, although there’s an interesting tartness in the finish. Not really on style, IMO, but it’s not bad.
