JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 22, 2008 Tap at the brewpub. Deep brown beer with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly nutty and malty with some light caramel and toast. Herbal and quite light smelling. Low bitterness with a very light sweetness. Kind of a watery brew and not all that great. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 11, 2008 Verry hoppy Cascade-y in a cloudy body, persistent tiny bubbles, thin whitish head. Very dry, little malts for a brown, a bit minerally, mild aftertaste. dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2008 Wow. What the Fuck??? My third infected McNeills brew in a row. Seriously it’s called quality control, get some. Davin (48), Vermont, USA Apr 11, 2008 Has a sour ale type aroma. Lighter body than expected. Caramel and roasted flavor. Not much hops in this bottle. That sour cherry aroma really throws me. puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Mar 24, 2008 From a 1 pint 6 fl. oz (US) bottle with a label that looked like someone printed it on their computer and ran it through a photocopying machine. No marked expiration date or lot number. This is bottle conditioned and unfiltered. So it poured a surprisingly clear ruby-brown with an off-white head that didn’t last.long. Aroma is hoppy. The taste is sweet and hoppy with a decent mouth feel but it did not remind me so much of a brown as it did an IPA. A tad dry toward the end. AN above average brew. glaze0101 (79), USA Nov 13, 2007 Experience this on tap, much better than the bottle, IMO. medium brown with a thin head smooth and slightly bitter. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 11, 2007 Bottle sampled Pours a medium brown with a thin beige head.Aroma of light caramel, brown sugar and some nuts. Flavor is smooth and light with caramel, dry malts, and some coffee notes with a light bitter finish. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 17, 2007 Fresh bottle from brewery, hand bottled. Brown with lots of lace. Bubbly head. Smelled like a scotch, tasted hoppy like an amber cross-style.
