Muddy dark chestnut. Nutty aroma, slightly vinous, toffeeish, almondy. Strongish flavour, a mix of sweetness and earth tones. Bark-like in its bitterness, a slightly disconcerting effect that highlights the lack of direction this beer has.

(22oz. bottle) Pours a cloudy dark ruby with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of pine, surgical gloves, medicinal, mustiness, dustiness, and caramel. Flavor of pine, malt, and brown sugar.

Poured a medium and cloudy copper color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, light coffee and a light earthiness to it. Tastes of chocolate, nutty, light caramel, some dough and a light bitter coffee finish.

Medium brown, almos clear, decent off-white head. Strong C-hops aroma yet in a earthy caramel malt territory. So dry it almost feels chalky, vegetal chocolate notes, almost peppery hops. Thin-medium body, low carbonation makes it feel a bit stale. Hmm, I’m not a big fan of this experiment, it’s just too dry and since this particular beer has an earthyness that almost reaches ashes in its approach to roastiness, it doesn’t pair well to my tastes.

Dark copper brown color with a thin lacey white head. Aroma is of thick chewy caramel and some roasted malt. Body starts syrupy, but thins out due to a lack of carbonation. Good sweet caramel malt presence and a crisp, lightly hoppy finish make this a respectable brown ale.

From a seemingly tepid puddle of sewer water emanates a seering pine cone perfume...Cloves massage the energetic conifer bitterness throughout...A cask-conditioned palate in a bottle...

Tap at the brewpub. Deep brown beer with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly nutty and malty with some light caramel and toast. Herbal and quite light smelling. Low bitterness with a very light sweetness. Kind of a watery brew and not all that great.
