| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 27, 2009 Tap at Barcade: Deep orange/bronze with an off white ring of head. Off aroma- some diacetyl, sticky dark fruits, and butterscotch. Sticky body- a bit cloying. Some fusels in the flavor- diacetyl/butterscotch, bitter fruit skins, peppery notes and alcohol. Restrained hop bitterness. Lacking cohesiveness and possesses too many off (buttery) flavors. mcox90 (661), Wilton, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a reddish orange color with a 2 finger beige head. Aroma has an earthy funk to it as well as some malty sweetness. Surprisingly little hop note in the nose. Flavor is a nice balance of piney hops and caramel malty sweetness. Some nutty flavor too. All in all, not what I would expect from a double IPA, but very enjoyable.
