Draught, at McSorleys, New York.
Mahogany coloured body with a large fluffy beige head. Rather empty stuff though. The place was a riot the evening I was there. Full of kids playing drinking games and throwing beer at one another.

12/15/2007: McSorley’s Black and Tan has a clear, deep mahogany color with ruby highlights and is topped by a thin and frothy tan-colored head. The aroma contains dark European malts, some slight fruit notes, and a hint of butterscotch. This beer is slightly dry and has a light molasses and chocolate flavor. Over all it goes down smoothly and is not bad.

12 fl. oz. bottle (85% stout, 15% lager). Rating #77 for this beer.

12 oz bottle from Joe Canal’s in West Deptford, NJ. The aroma is pretty sweet with mild molasses notes and abundant sweet malt as well as a bit of stale adjunct laden lager aroma. The beer pours a ruddy brown, but it does settle black, barely. The head is about a finger thick and tan, but immediately fades to a thin tan slick of a head.
Tastes very pale lager-like with some artifical sweetner and that stale warm cheap lager taste I have never been able to compare to anything else. It’s pretty bad tasting. It’s very thin and it leaves a stale unclean aftertaste. Unless you just want to try a new beer, save your money and buy Yuengling Black & Tan.

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark brown color with a minimal tan head. Aroma is very light and subtle with some roasted malt notes present. Flavor is lightly sweet at the start with some roasted malt notes but goes to a slightly fruity middle with a roasted and burnt malt finish. Watery.

12 oz. bottle. Poured dark brown with a heavily carbonated tan head. Pleasant aroma of sweet roasted malt. Flavor is a bit disappointing. Somewhat sweet with barely a hint of hops. Thin, almost watery mouthfeel. Lots of better options out there.

12 oz bottle. dark amber with alot of ruby highlights. Aroma is caramel and molasses with metallic as well as stale malt and cooked corn. Taste is about the same, thin bodied and stale, drain pour.
