Another bottled B&T. Its only my personal opinion but if you are going to go with a bottled B&T, Yuengling is the way to go. This is not as good. Respek

Dark brown with a light brown head that diminished rather quickly. Aroma is muted stout aromas with some cardboard. Watery. No taste really at all. Very sweet like water with sweet and low in it.

Bottle. This black and tan is probably one of my favorite bottled varieties. Smooth, creamy, malty, chocolatey. It’s everything that a good half and half should be.

Ugh, sweet and overly carbonated. Adjunct. If you want to go for a pre-mixed b+t I’d recommend you go for saranac or yuenglings before headin in this direction.

Let me start by saying black and tans should not come pre mixed in a bottle (it is just not proper) This beer was lacking in most things a B-T should be. No head, no aroma, and a weak flavor.

12oz bottle courtesy of Degarth. Thanks Joe. Very dark brown/mahogany combination coming out of the glass. Smallish tan head with no retention and sloppy lacing. Does leave an outer ringing of foam once the head dies down. Nose of molasses, licorice, chocolate, coffee, pale malts and some musty notes. Sweet on the fore, with chocolate, molasses, maple syrup and dark malts being the main components. Back end brings some pale malts into play, as well as some adjunct type flavors, but they aren’t too bad. Thin- light medium bodied, not watery. Slightly creamy mouthfeel, could use some more heft to the body. Finish is almost non-existent, some bitter roasty notes and a short surge of sweetness, and then a flavor abyss. Unremarkable, uninspired, but not undrinkable.

For a Pabst beer it's not bad. It has a nice dark ruby red color. Small head that is light tan and very little retention. Aroma is slighty sweet and malty. Flavor is slighly roasted and sweet. Finish is watery. For a black and tan there's way too much carbonation and not enough flavor. Stick to Yuengling or Saranac B&T. But as far as Pabst swill this beats the rest.
