I usually go for the "dark" at McSorleys. This is surprisingly good on tap. Dark in color with a big foamy head. Aroma is sweet and malty and flavor is also nice and malty. Simple but flavorful and refreshing for a dark.

Had this on tap in PA and found it to be better than I expected. Not there with the great ones, but nothing terrible about it either. It’s smooth, and has an OK flavor & finish.

On tap at McSorley’s old ale house. I am assuming this to be the "Dark". Got 2 mugs of about 1/2 dark brown, almost black beer and about 1/2 head. Mildly sweet, mildly roasted, light body and easy drinking. not bad.

although the beer seems watered down it still has the classic taste of a real black and tan.

Dark with a creamy head. Malty, sweet, and not much else in either the aroma of flavor. Smooth and really easy to drink, though. Not bad at all, but it’s just there.

12 oz bottle/ The body is black. The aroma is very light - almost nothing. Although I had a really strong scented Smoked beer right before so my senses may be a little off. The taste is pretty light - slight roast characteristic.

Beautiful opaque brown black with a creamy head of medium size. Aroma is crude roasty malt, and nothing else. Taste is same with plenty of water. Still, mouthfeel is more substantial than either taste or aroma, and carbonation is practically perfect. $1.30/12oz

A little bit on the watery side, but overall a decent black & tan. Has a fruity sweetness to it.
