Thin head which dissapates quickly. Slightly sweet aroma of roasted malts and molasses. Color is a very nice deep mahogany red/black. Flavor is a little thin and sweet with more roasted malts. Finish is a little dry with a slight burnt aftertaste and a hint of coffee. An ok beer but i find if difficult that there is no category for black and tan and this falls under a stout.

Another bottled B&T. Its only my personal opinion but if you are going to go with a bottled B&T, Yuengling is the way to go. This is not as good. Respek

Like "mississippi mud" but lacking the stout charteristic. Very carbonated.

First, a comment about McSorley’s Public House in NYC: an amazingly historic bar with more atmosphere than you’d find in a dozen trendy SoHo martini bars. But their beer’s a different story. For one, McSorley’s barely even washes their glasses, and their brews are the lamest form of swill. This B&T even shows a little alcohol taste, which is inexcusable. If you’re a real beer drinker, avoid this "style" altogether.

Draft at McSorleys in NYC. Definately not a stout. Little week on the color side for a black and tan. Nothing wrong with it. SLight malt tast. Nice and chuggable.

Bottle. Aroma cream, lots of vanilla, not much of anything else. Tastes more like lager than stout. Since it says on the bottle 85% stout, 15% lager, this makes me think that whoever brewed this doesn’t have a clue how to make a stout. There is only a faint hint of roast. There is a tiny bite, a very mild bitterness, but not much else going on in the flavour. A tiny hint of sourness too. I agree with the other reviewer that pointed out that the texture of this beer is more interesting and balanced than the taste. The flavor and aroma are both weak. Tastes like a macro-brew.

Draught, at McSorleys, New York. </br> Mahogany coloured body with a large fluffy beige head. Rather empty stuff though. The place was a riot the evening I was there. Full of kids playing drinking games and throwing beer at one another.
