Cask at Wetherspoons, Victoria 16 Nov 08. Looks like strong coffee. Strong aroma of coffee. No head. Just like plain cold coffee. Not my cup of tea.

Cask Conditioned at J.D. Wetherspoon - The Knight’s Templar, London
Very dark brown color. The aroma is indeed nothing else than coffee, not strong, like an American one, and not burnt. The body is light, with a mild coffee flavor, see above, and a very light sour touch; the plus side is that at times it reminds some good dark chocolate. Pleasant.

Cask at the Railway, Putney, "Mopping up the Spoons fest", 15th Nov 08. Deep coffee brown with a firm creeam coloured head. Restrained coffee aroma and lots of espresso taste in the mouth. Personally, I think they could have had more roasted bitterness and less vanilla sweetness as it gets a bit sickly later in the drink (and I was only having a third of a pint!)

cask at JDW edinburgh ...deep deep brown ... nice tight creamy light tan head ... coffee and ligth burnt malts ... nice coffee and roast tiny bit burnt ... the charcoal character builds over time.

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys, London. Ruby, deep colour with disappearing head. Yes its coffee choccy. Coffee is a bit odd though, not sure it entirely works, but good to see this in cask

Cask at the Roebuck, Nottingham. I gave the bottled version of this beer a much more generous rating, but I’m not sure if it was better or if I just wasn’t as much in the mood for this. It may as well be an iced alcoholic coffee. The aroma is actually quite nice in that it’s just of coffee, but the flavour has an unpleasant sourness. This might not have been in the best condition (with no insult intended to the staff at the Roebuck).

From cask at Crystal Palace. Pours dark brown with a minor amber glare and a dense tan head. Roasted and chocolate malty aroma. Spiced hoppy and slight powderish chocolate flavoured with a distinct bitterness and acidic note coming through from the hard roasted malt. Spiced and bitter finish.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark brown with no head, served very cold and flat. to be fair, this was off, but we couldn’t regain anyones attention to get it changed. Like drinking cold liquid camp coffee with a lactic sour background. Ashy and poor, terrible.
