Commercial Description:
Keg: Filtered.
Helles is the German word for ‘light’ as in light colour, and this golden coloured beer is typified by a refreshing piney, citrus hop aroma sitting atop a predominantly light malt accented palate.
The hop aromas and delicate malt flavours work together in perfect balance to produce a refreshing beer with a clean, crisp finish. The Hallertaur hop does all its work on the nose, meaning this is a beer with very low bitterness. An ideal companion to roast pork, light seafood pasta, goats cheese salad, or an apricot tatin.

Not very true to style. Smooth and light base, but it is hopped a bit much, making it more of a pilsener. But it is far better than the standard lagers out there.

Draft at the Fox & Anchor in London. Deep golden color with thinnish white head. Lightly sourish cereal nose, hops almost undetectable in aroma. Crisp, nicely bitter, and very lively... possibly overcarbonated but not unpleasantly so. More nutty cereals in backdrop. Nice dry, bitter finish. Refreshing and highly drinkable.

Keg at the Union. Cleanish. Low hops. Faint burnt toffee and rubber. Dry. Boring. Dull. Almost indiscernible from the Kolner.

Cask @ Market Porter London. A clear golden colored beer, with a small white head. The aroma is malty sweet and fruity. The taste is sparkling, mostly sweet. Fruits like citrus. The aftertaste is sweet with some bitter.

From tap at Market porter. Pours clear and yellow with a small dense white head. Light cornish and bitter aroma. Flavour is light citric and bitter. Citric and bitter finish. Not a good helles compared to the german rolemodels.
