At Hashigo Zake Wellington. Pours a cloudy golden hue with a fast fading white head. Aromas of caramel, mild pine, and grass. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with some unique characteristics for the flavours. Would drink more often, but way too pricey for what it is.

Reviewed 11/10/2009 (bottle): Pours a golden brown color body, with an average tan color head. Diminishing. Malty aroma, bitter dusty, musty. A little funky. Light taste, some maltiness. More dustiness in the taste. English tasting. Probably the yeast or the hops. Eh, not so tasty. Might be something off with this bottle.

Bottle. Pours a deep golden orange. Rocky creamy head. Majority disappaers pretty quickly leving nice lacing. Plenty of biscuity malt on the nose supported nicely by the floral hops. Flavours are very much the same. Heaps of sweet malt, a little caramel and plenty of hops. Not overly bitter on the finish. Wonderful balance and a bloody good beer.

A: Pours a nice golden color with a big bubbly head that dies down nicely. There is some lacing left behind as the contents disappear. S: Very nice floral hop aroma with an underlying malty biscuity sweetness. T: Nice IPA, different than our versions here in the US, but good nonetheless. Citrus hops with a slight hint of jasmine. There is a nice sweet malty back bone in the background that pulls this one all together. Nice brew man. M: Full bodied yet creamy.

330ml bottle. Pours a lightly cloudy, medium, amber body and small head. Fair lacing. Malty, nutty caramel cut by hops reminiscent of spruce. Yeast suggests broth and dough. Slight clove and banana. Pair with a game bird. Pheasant would be delicious.

750 ml bottle. Amber orange colour, thick and creamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus fruits and pine. The flavour is sweetish, malty, with grapefruit and spices and a lingering, bitter, pine-like hoppy finish. Very tasty.

Draught at Local Taphouse, Melbourne. Clear golden with a decent creamy white head. Big fruity aroma and luscious pine hop notes. The flavour is stone fruit, citrus and herbs/grass. Heaps of bitterness that follows right through to the finish. A fantastic IPA! A big cheers to Dave for making this happen!

Tap. Nice and creamy. Aromas of grass, and pine. Flavour is long-lasting, with a sweet malt start, taken over by bitterness. Creamy in the palate, medium body. Orange, with a creamy white head that lasts.

Red-brown beer with big white head. Aroma is quite mild, some pine needles, fruits and lemon. Flavour is nice sweetness together with bitter, resin, grapefruit and citrus fruits. Nice carbonation with medium body makes this beer nice to drink. Citrus fruits with some nuancees from US IPA but this is not so fruitfull and there are some balancing sweetnes. Big bottle disappears quicly that is good sign of great brewing.
