Commercial Description:
Keg, Occasional;
This style of beer is traditionally brewed at the end of the european winter and lagered in caves. It traditionally continues until the Maerzen Lager or March Beer runs out. The Maerzen Lager has a nice toasty malt flavour with a moderate sweetness balanced by a nice bitterness and dominant alcohol presence.

On tap @ "Man Of Kent" Rochester: I like Meantime and like Oktoberfest/Marzens ,Spaten being my fave example-but thought this was a little subdued . Toasty caramel is husky ..some cheweiness and spicy hop , but man the malt aint powerful or sweet enuff . Lacking guts or insperation, but it aint a badly made offering .

draught @ the Union in Greenwich. Perfect looking pint. Startling clear golden body with a steady even white head. Didn’t like the smell too much, too much germinated barley and a tad too sweet. Still very sweet for a maerzen in taste and a lot of sprouting crereal but light and refreshing as it should be. I agree with Mes. Well done Meantime!

A Mes rate: Draught at the Greenwich Union.
Awesome looking clean golden brown colour with a reasonable white head and good condition. Big wheaty aroma with a really pleasing light sourness and lovely malt and hops. Very German. Very tasty stuff. Lemon and wheat with more of the decent malt and hops and a really good tangy and bitter finish leaving a good quality lager malt aftertaste. Just what I needed at the time and I reckon I could get quite happily messy on this. Perfectly poised mouthfeel. Lovely and clean yet with just the right amount of body. One of Meantime’s best.
