Fresh from the spiggot at Meenan’s in Dunedin. Deep brassy gold, sweet grainy/cereal aroma and flavour, dry finish with low bitterness. Yep, it’s a discount lager, but at least it’s pretty fresh! Average.

Smells sweet, quite dirty like artificial caramel. Notes of bready malt and (some) basic hop. Flavours are clean, mouthfeel is watery. Very little hop and malt. Nothing there really. Easy drinking, cheap, clean and relatively strong. Doesn’t lie about what it is (essentially, a simple brew for those sticking to a budget) - extra points.

A light-bodied, pale, lightly carbonated unremarkable lager that’s quite mainstream. Full-flavored for a lager, I suppose. Enjoyed at Meenans wine store in Dunedin.

Meenans Wines and Spirits is a pretty good shop for beer, it's just a pity they sell this stuff. furry compost. faint toffee

a murky colour somewhere in the unattractive region between yellow and brown. malty, low hopping, with bad cheese and soap from the lager yeast. sorry, i'm sure i can come up with a more eloquent rating than that. ahem. this offering from Meenans Wines and Spirits Ltd poured a murky colour somewhere in the unattractive region between yellow and brown. it had a kind of malty taste. i would describe the hops as low. i think it also had a cheesy and soapy taste. i would not drink this beer again. i would not buy this beer again even though it was cheap and in a plastic bottle.
