Commercial Description:
Brewed with malted barley, wheat, hops, yeast, water, fresh cherries and their juice. Cherry Fruit Beer has a bouquet of fresh cherries. It makes an excellent aperitif in place of dry sherry. Complements carbonnade a la beouf, mussels in white wine, flavourful cheeses.

Small pink head. Deep purple body with lots of carbonation. Intense sweetish cherry marzipan aroma, nutty and refreshing. Deep, sweetish cherry taste with notes of nuts and marzipan. Dry, wooden cherry aftertaste. Excellent. Amazing at 3.4%. (0.355l bottle.)

Brewed with cherries, and then mixed with more of them. Smells like the Mon Cherie filled chocolates. Tastes of cherry juice and not much more. gruve tells me they have a strawberry and an apricot beer, too. I’ll pass on them.

Bottle. Deep red colour, small, but stable white head. Concentrated cherry juice for all the money, both in the nose and in taste. Little else. More a juice than a beer.

NorCal tasting Apr 07 - This is the one beer from Melbourn Bros. that I’ve been missing. Thankfully it showed up at a tasting and it didn’t dissapoint. It reminded me of a poor man’s New Glarus Belgian Red. Like liquid cherry pie filling, but not nearly as good as NG. Aroma is cherries, strong and unapologetic. Appearance is pink, bubbly with a here today/gone tomorrow head. Flavors is shocking strong with cherry sweetness. Nothing refined like NG, just balls to the wall cherries. Almost reminds me of cherry cough medicine and I think that if I had to drink more than a bottle of this it would get at that point. But with restraint, it’s a refreshingly smooth, crisp interesting drink to consume.

Bottle, picked up from SH Jones, Bicester 17-03-07. Pored a wonderful deep pink colour, very big in the cherry stakes with a powerful aroma and even more hard hitting but very nice taste. Came across as both a bit sweet and sour and probably a good deal sweeter than many others than fit into this catergory, but I really liked it and found it very easy drinking.

Bottle. Head was large fizzy and red which mostly diminished. Spares lacing in glass. Body was slightly clear and colour was cherry red. Aroma heavy cherry with notes of other fresh fruit. Light to medium bodied with an soft carbonation. Flavour was moderated sweet with acidic notes.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy dark red with a somewhat rough, pinkish head.. Distinct cherry aroma. Medium body with sweet’n’sour cherry notes - but definitely different from a Belgian fruit lambic. 260107
