This is an experiment into whether good beers are much better than bad, so far the bad beers are actually intimidating me, I am scared to finish one as it means it is time to open another ;) Alcoholist (570), Peoria, Illinois, USA

Same shite different label. Perhaps a tad sweeter and worse than VB. Spanner (60), Canberra, Australia

Its got some good reliable flavour as well as appearance. I like it a a regular drink after drink bloody wine all day. A good cleanser! bluevegie (2208), Perth, Australia
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 13, 2003 Thought this was much better than VB but that is not saying much. Some bitterness makes it easier to drink than VB. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia
| 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Dec 13, 2003 Nothing good to say about this fizzy, watery with nasty hop bitterness that sticks to your tongue. Pointless and a lot like VB. Cannot detect ANY fruity or yeasty aromas from this. theread (51), Wagga Wagga, Australia
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Dec 10, 2003 Described in a book I have on Australian brewers which is now over 20 years old as different from Carlton's other brews because it has 25% more hops. I can recall in the 70's this wasn't bad, in fact it was a little on the bitter side.
Nowdays, 25% of virtually nothing in real hops is still virtually nothing. The same as VB with a red label. I'm positive that CUB just have five different labels, VB, Melbourne, Carlton Draught, Foster's and Crown and one beer that goes into a different bottle.
Steer clear of this as well as any CUB product. They are uniform in their horrible taste. KBeer (117), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 30, 2003 I'm strangely found of this macro lager for some reason. It seems to have less of a chemical taste than some of the main Aussie players. Its easy to drink and can go for quite the session.
