(Draught@Rotterdam, Helsinki) Clear amber with a very small, fading head. Mild, a bit strange and stuffy aroma of vegetably malt and hints of cinnamon. Toffee-malty, neutral and acidic flavor with some diacetyl and cardboard. Light to medium-bodied, fizzy palate. An unclean and boring vienna, served way too cold and maybe not at its best.

Bottle. Clear amber color, quickly diminishing head. Aroma of toast, grain, and honey with a bit of sulfur. Sweet grainy malt/ honey-nut flavor with no real body or hop profile to balance it out. A thin, one-dimensional dark lager.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of foam with a frothy top fine to large sized white colored bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light and a poor lacing. The smooth aroma was malty and cinnamon. The crisp and clean smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of spices and mild caramel. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

A clean, sweet wort smell emanates from this golden-amber lager. Nice creamy head with good lacing. The flavor tones down a bit, but still delivers a sweet caramel taste with just enough floral bitterness to keep it in check. The finish is a lasting caramel/toffee sweetness. Not exceptional, but quite enjoyable.

Color is a nice gold to copper hue. Extremely full and lively carbonation. The swirling, volcanic bubbling is mesmorizing and the most impressive and intriguing I’ve seen. Two finger fluffy light ivory head that has extremely good retention. Aroma is buttery, toffee, light caramel malt, and European. Flavor is soft, subtle sweet malt, toffee, and wonderfully balanced with the gentle hop bitterness. Palate is above average, medium mouthfeel, and quite smooth. This is wonderfully balanced beer that I am quite impressed with overall. 11.2 oz bottle, $2.65 from the Pour House Bottle Shop.

Sweet and malty aroma has a suggestion of herbal hops. Clear burnished copper coloured body is topped by the lightest film of white head. Nutty malt forward flavour is quite sweet with plenty of crystal malt apparent. Floral, earthy hops are detectable towards the lightly bitter finish. Medium body is a bit sticky with moderate carbonation. While it’s much better than the blonde, I don’t think I’ll be having another. Bottle (Ireland, May-06).
