Light grainy aroma that is almost exclusively cereal and grassy hops. The appearance is pale gold with a medium head. The flavor is light but quite agreeable. It has the malty cereal element from the aroma along with the mild grassy hops. The palate is average but the finish is a little sour and citrus like. As pale lagers go, this one is good.

Nose is a little flowery. The colour is pale gold with above average white head (and with above average lacings). It is very easy to drink since the “tasted” is restrained to some hoppyness in the finish. Otherwise: crisp, fresh and refreshing - a real thirst quencher. I must admit, that I like this beer. However: The Danish importer has a way with words. He is telling everybody who cares to listen that this beer won the “beer-world championship” three years in a row. I think he is trying to say, that the Menabrea beer was awarded a gold medal by the Chicago Bevarage Testing Institute three years in a row, which isn’t the same as winning since lots of different beers are awarded gold medals. And it becomes even more grotesque since the best beers are awarded a platinum-medal (which apparently is better then gold).

Bottle. Floral hoppy nose. Pale gold with a white head. Flavour is pretty much a bog standard Italian lager with a slightly sour finish.

Bottle, at DBF (030511 & 040515). Golden with a white head. Typical Italian lager: mild, some malty sweetness and not that much character. Very drinkable.

[small bottle, fresh, chilled, classic SAQ selection] I had this beer a few weeks ago with Daniel Bilodeau but I just found my annotations.

Borrrrrrriiing! Tedious, dull, mind-numbing…
Clear, faint yellow color. This must be the Italian’s Coors Light. Some traces of hops, if you’re creative. Low to medium flavor, bitterer, less sweet then the usual pilsner. Thin body, thin texture.

It has a large white, lasting head. Pale golden colour. Nose of grain, dried grass and some citrus. Clean, pale malt flavor with a crisp bitterness. It’s light to medium bodiet. Little hoppy and bitter finish.

Typical slightly skunked Italian macro-brew...spritzy mouthfeel, dry finish, slightly stale taste, very little character or substance.
