Menabrea Christmas Beer

[Eyes] dark amber with a little foam head {nouse] caramel and dark sugar. [mouth] light body, caramel balanced by some bittering hops.

660ml dark bottle, malty and spicy aroma, tastes like cherrys with a little touch of caramel.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of spice, sweet malt, caramel and fruit.

66 cL bottle. Pours clear brown, almost maghoni. Has a collapsing off-white head. Slight spiced, caramel malty and mild mouldy aroma. Almost no carbonation. Breadish and sweet flavoured, vague spice note. Ends with little bitterness and dominated by more of the same malt notes. I had my hopes high for this and was disappointed, this isn’t bad but not great either.

Bottle (50cl) at Empire Bio - just before a Gang Gang Dance concert - they are more than 1 hour late. Dark red/brown - offwhite head. High malty, high sweetness, red berries, caramel, light spicy. Not that interesting !!
